FATALLY GORED BY BULL  – OWNER OF SANTA ROSA VINEYARDS

Perth, Sept; 9.— While trying to drive a bull from the road into a paddock at Byford yesterday. Ivan Kunicich (46), single, received fatal injuries when the bull gored him! Kunicich was the owner of the Santa Rose vineyards property, comprising 15 acres of vineyards, wine cellars and a dwelling.

The tragedy was discovered when a woman left her home on the adjoining property to ascertain why the bull was moving rapidly at the side of the road skirting the vineyard. She saw Kunicich lying in a ditch beside the road with the bull standing over him. A dog kept the bull at bay until the local pound keeper and a native reached the scene; After the bull had been driven into a paddock a report was made  to Constable Fletcher, of Armadale. A doctor found Kunicich was dead. Severe wounds had been inflicted on his head and chest and at the autopsy today it was found that every rib had been fractured and serious internal injuries sustained.
