FUNERALS.

The Late Mr. M. Parentich.

The funeral of the late Mir Martin Parentich of 687 Launceston-street, Boulder, took place last Thursday afternoon. A service was held in St.Patrlck’s Church, Adelaide-street, Fremantle at which the Rev. Father J. Weldon O.M.I., officiated. The cortege then proceeded to the Karrakatta cemetery, where the remains were interred in the Roman Catholic Portion.

The Rev. Father J Fahey of the Cottesloe presbytery conducted the last rites at the graveside.

Mr. Parentich. who was born at Zeostrog. Dalmatia, Yugoslavia. arrived in Western Australia 31 years ago and settled at Kalgoorle.

He was engaged in firewood cutting, well sinking and fencing in many parts of the Eastern Goldfields for some years. He was a keen prospector and afterwards engaged in mining and held valuable contributions on the leading Boulder mines. Mr. Parentich was an active member of the Tributers and Prospectors’ Assocation. He had always been and hard working, and his charitable disposition and readiness to give a helping hand to his fellow man brought him the respect and esteem of all who came into contact with him.

His death has been a shock not only to the large Yugoslav community of Eastern Goldfields. but to his many Australian friends.

He leaves a wife and four children to mourn their loss. The chief mourners were:-Mrs Mare Parentich(wife), Mr. Frank Parentch (son), Tomita, Vilma and Lilly Parentich (daughters). Messrs Ivan and Mate Parentich (brothers). Mesdames T. Berich and L Kosovich (sisters). Miss Ana Kumparak (sister-in-law) and Ivan and Jose Alach. Nickola Kosovich and Mrs. I. Kosovich (cousins).

The pall bearers were: The Consul for Yugoslavia (Mr N. Marich), and Messs. Geo. Banovich, Nick Kosovich, Tony Despot, Jack Kosovich, Steve Kraljevich, Victor Silich and L. J. Grljusich.

Floral tributes were placed on the grave and widespread expressions of sympathy have been extended to the bereaved relatives.
